Welcome to my website.
My name is Merlijn Bredius.
I am 25 years old and from Amsterdam.
In 2018, I graduated from St. Ignatius Gymnasium in Amsterdam-Zuid.
During my gap year, I went to South America alone for five months.
There, I ended up in the Sierra Nevada mountains of Colombia.

Five indigenous tribes live in the Sierra Nevada:
The Kogi, Arhuaco, Wiwa, Kunkuamo, and Wayu.
They call themselves the world's older brother.
For them, the Sierra Nevada is the heart of the world.

The tribes of the Sierra have Mamos as spiritual leaders.
Mamo means "sun" or "enlightened one."
I was given the opportunity to connect with the Arhuaco culture.
During this process, I was appointed a European Mamo.

We currently live in a time when our culture is not in harmony with nature.
The Sierra tribes are asking for help.
We must stop destroying nature.
If we continue this way, the future of humanity is uncertain.

We live in times that demand new solutions.
